Malawi lies along the west bank of Lake Malawi. Employment is in agriculture, mainly tea and cotton. Formerly Nyasaland, it gained independence in 1966.

Population: 17.5 million.
Languages: English, Chichewa.
Main religions: Christian, Islam, traditional.

CBM activities There are usually two Bible Schools a year, one being a Youth Bible School. There is a CBM centre and campus at Chinamwali, Zomba. Brothers from Malawi still undertake some preaching activities in Mozambique.
