Guinea was a French colony until 1958. Apart from savanna grassland around the rivers and coast, it is mountainous and covered with tropical rainforest. The capital is Conakry, a city of about half a million people; however most of the population lives in rural areas.

CBM activities Visits are made from the UK each year when conditions allow; there are also occasional visits from Liberian brothers.
