Ethiopia

Ethiopia map

Ethiopia lies to the north of Kenya, and is the only country of Africa never to be colonised. Much of its culture reveals a distinctly Hebrew flavour. The capital city Addis Ababa is situated 9,000 ft above sea level. A major religion is the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, which became independent of Rome around 300 AD.

Population: 78 million. Language: Amharic. Main religions: Muslim, Ethiopian Orthodox.

CBM activities in 2008 consisted of a 6-month stay by Joshua and Rosemary Kisuya from Kenya. A Bible School was held for the first time.
